Drama

The Glebe Farm Drama Department strives to nurture confident, creative and thoughtful learners. It is our belief that the practice of Drama enables students to explore a wide range performance texts, stimuli and career opportunities withing the arts. Our curriculum offers pupils a chance to explore different contexts and a varied and dynamic set of themes, along with supporting students with subjects such as English, History and Science through a variation of cross-curricular links. Pupils are set ambitious devising, knowledge and performance goals that encourage them to take risks and consider the world in a more perceptive way.

Throughout the curriculum, pupils will navigate a range of themes and texts that should motivate and inspire them to respond creatively. The knowledge and skills that the pupils develop will support them in becoming considerate, dedicated and enigmatic performers, whilst ensuring that students are perceived as personable and confident young people.

Communication is at the heart of Drama. We will encourage learners to consider how their body-language, movement, vocality and voice can impact how we communicate. Pupils will explore performing monologues, duologues and group performances, building a strong sense of belonging and collaboration. It is the aim of the Drama department to support pupils to become upstanding, thoughtful members of their community.
